1981 Spacey Sound SE450 Strat from Greco finished in gorgeous Dave Gilmour-esque ebony and maple, with tweed hard-case.
 
From right out of Japan's golden 'Lawsuit' era, this Greco Spacey Sound is a brilliant guitar, crafted to authentic Fender specs. In fact, whilst Fender were grappling with the end of the CBS era and the rather strange batch of guitars that emerged at the end of the 70s, Japanese outfits like Greco were making guitars that blew these out of the water in terms of finish and playability.
 
This guitar was made during the famed Super Real era at Greco, 1980-1982. A short lived time when the FugiGen Gakki factory produced some of the best Stratocaster replicas ever made. These are purported to be the guitars Fender were looking at when they brokered the deal to have FugiGen Gakki stop producing Greco and start producing the famed JV Fender line. These Grecos have direct linage to the famed JV's and are of equal (some say better) quality.
 
This example is hewn from solid ash and features a delightfully playable gloss maple neck. The period appointments include a three-bolt neck and large 70s Fender style headstock. The pickups provide an excellent medley of classic Strat tones and the hardware locks things down nicely.
 
This guitar is offered in great condition for age with only minor wear.
Electrically, it's spot on and it plays beautifully. Rear cavity plate is missing.
 
It has also been treated to a full String Theory service that includes strings, fretboard treatment, action setting, electrics check and a deep clean.
